names - function to form an output file name from the input file name
void names( char infile[], char pid[] )
Basic Seismic
Utilities (BSU) function appends the first 4 characters of
the input file name to the process ID. The result is the
output file name (before any suffix).
C-language version.
Arguments
infile (char)
Input file name.
pid (char)
Process identification. This is typically the name of the main program, limited to 4 characters.
NOTE:
This program assumes that there are at least 4 characters in
the input file name.
