NAME

names - function to form an output file name from the input file name

SYNOPSIS

void names( char infile[], char pid[] )

DESCRIPTION

Basic Seismic Utilities (BSU) function appends the first 4 characters of the input file name to the process ID. The result is the output file name (before any suffix).

Arguments
infile (char)

Input file name.

pid (char)

Process identification. This is typically the name of the main program, limited to 4 characters.

NOTE:
This program assumes that there are at least 4 characters in the input file name.
